Minister McEntee launches the review 'Development and Impact of Peer-Led Health Support in the Community: A Review of Áras Folláin and Gateway'

Minister of State for Mental Health and Older People, Helen McEntee TD today launched the review of the peer-led projects Áras Folláin and Gateway in TCD School of Nursing and Midwifery, entitled ‘Development and Impact of Peer-Led Mental Health Support in the Community: A Review of Áras Folláin and Gateway’. This review looks at the development and impact of two of Ireland’s long-running community based peer-run projects. The research was organised by Mental Health Ireland in partnership with the HSE Mental Health Division, and was carried out by TCD.
Minister McEntee stated, ‘This report highlights exceptionally positive outcomes to the peer support services offered by Áras Folláin and Gateway. In line with A Vision for Change, which supported service users to recognise the resources within themselves and their social networks, these two projects serve to empower all of those involved, and I commend the excellent work that they continue to carry out.’
