Minister of State for the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands, announces a grant of up to € 50,000 for Comhchoiste Náisiúnta na gColáistí Samhraidh
Minister Joe McHugh said, announcing the grant:
My Department makes a yearly investment of over €4m in the summer colleges sector through grants to the families that keep students. This is evidence that my Department and I know how important the Summer Colleges sector is for the Irish language and the economy of the Gaeltacht. CONCOS plays a key role in the promotion of that sector, of course, and I am delighted to be able to help them in that work.
This allocation is in accordance with the commitment set out in measure 2.15 in the Government Action Plan 2018-2022 for the Irish Language launched in June 2018.
