Minister of State Kyne sanctions more than €600,000 for island works

The Minister of State at the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Seán Kyne, T.D., announced today (XX August 2016) that he has sanctioned a total grant allocation of €654,900 for improvement works on various islands and for facilities serving islands. The grants have been sanctioned for Donegal, Mayo, Cork and Galway County Councils as follows:

The County Councils will co-fund these projects.  Details of the islands involved and the proposed works are given in the attached table.

 

Minister of State Kyne said that he was happy to be able to make this announcement.  “Today’s announcement shows that my Department is committed to providing capital funding, when it has the opportunity to do so, to improve facilities for our island communities” he said.
