National Public Health Emergency Team held their 13th meeting today

The National Public Health Emergency Team on Carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPE) held their 13th meeting today, 22nd February 2018.
The focus of discussion at the meeting was governance arrangements at an operational level in the HSE to target CPE.
The latest figures from the National CPE Reference Laboratory were presented to the group. In the two-week period from 5th to 18th February 2018 a total of 18 new patients with CPE were detected.
The group noted that the second Health Protection Surveillance Centre CPE surveillance report is due for publication next week.
