National Review of Specialist Cardiac Services

The Steering Group for the National Review of Specialist Cardiac Services met on Monday 26th March. During the meeting, the Steering Group finalised their interpretation of the scope of the Review, and agreed that a comprehensive review of all aspects of specialist cardiology services was required to make appropriate recommendations for the organisation of those services. The Steering Group noted the importance of delivering the Review within the 18-month time-frame requested by the Minister. The Steering Group also received two briefings:

  • The Secretariat of the Review briefed the Steering Group regarding the on-going work on those work packages related to data collection, evidence review, consultation and communication; and
  • Professor Kieran Daly, Clinical Lead of the Acute Coronary Syndrome Programme, briefed the Steering Group on the work of the programme.

A summary of all meetings and related documents will be published on the Department of Health website.
