New Ambassadors present Credentials

Their Excellencies, the Ambassadors of the Republic of Hungary, India, Brunei Darussalam, the Republic of Singapore and the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.

H.E. Mr. Tamás Magyarics, Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary, was accompanied by his wife, Ms. Eszter Ajkay, and by Mr. Gerely Janzso, Second Secretary at the Embassy.

H.E. Mr. Debashish Chakravarti, Ambassador of India, was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Adity Chakravarti, and by Mr. Doraiswamy Ramamoorthy, Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy.

H.E. Mr. Hj Mohd Aziyan bin Abdullah, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalem, resident in London, was accompanied by Mr. Mohd Dino Ayup, Second Secretary at the Embassy.

H.E. Mr. T Jasudasen, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore, resident in London, was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Patricia Jasudasen, and by Ms. Charlene Chow, Second Secretary at the Embassy.

H.E. Mr. Amar Abba, Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, is also resident in London.

Mr. John Perry, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, represented the Government at the ceremony.

The following were also present: Mr. Adrian O’Neill, Secretary-General to the President; Mr. David Cooney, Secretary-General at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mr. Joe Brennan, Deputy Chief of Protocol, Ms. Cliona Manahan, Deputy Chief of Protocol, Ms. Marion O’Donnell, Mr. Myles Geiran and Mr. Nigel Hutson, Assistant Chiefs of Protocol, at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Lieutenant Richard Piggott.

The Guard of Honour was provided at Áras an Uachtaráin by troops drawn from the 2nd Field Artillery Regiment, McKee Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Lieutenant Ian O’Riordan. The Army No. 1 Band was conducted by Captain Declan Whitston.
