New Ambassadors present Credentials

Their Excellencies, the Ambassadors of the Republic of Kosovo, the Republic of Malawi and the Republic of Uzbekistan presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.

H.E. Mr. Lirim Greiçevci, Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Lindita Greiçevci, their son Ben and by Mr. Arion Krasniqi, First Secretary at the Embassy.

H.E. Mr. Bernard Herbert Sande, Ambassador of the Republic of Malawi, was accompanied by Mr. Vupé Kunkwenzu, Counsellor at the Embassy.

H.E. Mr. Otabek Akbarov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was accompanied by Mr. Bakhtiyor Turayev, Attaché at the Embassy.

Mr. Joe Costello, T.D., Minister of State for Trade and Development at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, represented the Government at the ceremony.

The following were also present: Mr. Adrian O’Neill, Secretary-General to the President; Mr. Brendan Rogers, Deputy Secretary-General at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Mr. Joe Brennan, Deputy Chief of Protocol, Ms. Marion O’Donnell and Ms. Emma Madigan, Assistant Chiefs of Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Lieutenant Richard Piggott.

A Guard of Honour was provided at Áras an Uachtaráin by the 1st Infantry Battalion, Mellows Barracks, Renmore, Galway, under the command of Lieutenant James Mulderrig.

Captain Fergal Carroll conducted the Army No. 1 Band.
