In Kerry these services include 8 post-primary schools, 5 PLC centres, 4 adult education centres and a range of VTOS, Youthreach and other programmes which support the educational and training needs of the people of the county. It will also shortly take over responsibility for training functions in the region and, in particular, the Tralee Training Centre which is currently the responsibility of FAS. Courses are available to people who wish to develop their literacy, numeracy and ICT skills to Doctorate level.

Speaking ahead of the launch Minister Deenihan commented “This booklet gives adults in Kerry the opportunity to find the right course for them. Given the challenges our country faces at present, the need for training and reskilling has never been more important, it is vital that appropriate programmes and courses are available that offer students and learners the potential to make the best possible use of their inherent skills and knowledge.
