New Ambassador presents Credentials

His Excellency the Ambassador of the United States of America presented his Letter of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.

H.E. Mr. Edward F. Crawford, Ambassador of the United States of America, was accompanied by his wife Mrs. Mary Crawford, his son Mr. Matthew Crawford, and by Mr. Reece Smyth, Deputy Chief of Mission.             

The following were also present: Mr. Art O’Leary, Secretary General to the President; Mr. Brendan Rogers, Deputy Secretary General, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; Mr. Feilim McLaughlin, Chief of Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The Ambassador was accompanied to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2 Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Lieutenant Stephen Bunney. 

A Guard of Honour was provided at Áras an Uachtaráin by the 12th Infantry Battalion, Sarsfield Barracks, Limerick, under the command of Lieutenant Owen Lynch. 

Captain John Carpenter conducted the Army No. 1 Band, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin.
