New Ambassadors present Credentials

Their Excellencies, the Ambassadors of the State of Eritrea, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Zambia presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.

H.E. Mr. Estifanos Habtemariam Ghebreyesus, Ambassador of the State of Eritrea, was accompanied by Mr. Salih Saad, First Secretary at the Embassy.
H.E. Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain, was accompanied by Mr. Fahad Albinali, First Secretary at the Embassy.
H.E. Mr. Muyeba Shichapwa Chikonde, Ambassador of the Republic of Zambia, was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Fravia Musonda Kaseba Chikonde, and by Mr. Liboma Lipalile, First Secretary at the Embassy.

Mr. Jimmy Deenihan, Minister of State for the Diaspora at the Departments of the Taoiseach and Foreign Affairs and Trade, represented the Government at the ceremony.
The following were also present: Mr. Conor Ó Raghallaigh, Deputy Secretary-General to the President; Mr. Michael Gaffey, Assistant Secretary at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ms. Síle Maguire, Chief of Protocol, Mr. Joe Brennan and Ms. Mary Cusack, Protocol, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Lieutenant Fergal Reilly.
A Guard of Honour was provided at Áras an Uachtaráin by the 6th Infantry Battalion, Custume Barracks, Athlone, Co. Westmeath, under the command of Lieutenant John Mahon.
Captain Fergal Carroll conducted the Army No. 1 Band, Cathal Brugha Barracks.
