Press Release: Government reappoints Laura Burke as Director General of the Environmental Protection Agency

The Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment Denis Naughten has secured Government approval for the reappointment of Ms. Laura Burke for a second term as Director General of the Environmental Protection Agency with effect from November 2018.

The Agency plays a central role in protecting our environment and the people of Ireland from the harmful effects of radiation and pollution.

Announcing the reappointment, Minister Denis Naughten stated:

" Laura’s continued leadership of the Environmental Protection Agency for another term is extremely welcome. I want to acknowledge her excellent work to date demonstrated through the effective operation of the Agency. During her tenure, Laura has overseen many significant changes and improvements to the Agency including the merger of the Agency with the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland. I am confident that Laura will continue to provide effective leadership of the Agency to meet the many challenges ahead.”
