Statement on the death of Nicky McFadden TD
Jimmy Deenihan TD, Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, has expressed his sadness at the death of Nicky McFadden TD and has extended his condolences to her family and many friends at this time.
"Today, we have lost a great friend and colleague, and a person of extraordinary warmth, strength and courage.
"The dreadful and debilitating effects of Motor Neurone disease are well known. The way that Nicky dealt with this disease was inspirational. It was the way she dealt with everything - with calmness, strength, and grace.
"Our thoughts are with her children, Caren & Eoin, and all her family and many friends. We share their loss. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis."
