The Minister for Health, Simon Harris TD, has welcomed the decision by the HSE to reimburse nine new treatments and to begin their prescribing process and protocols.
Minister Harris said “This represents another major investment by the HSE in innovative medicines. The decision by the HSE on each treatment is very significant and important for the patients involved.
The Minister had asked that this issue be resolved as a matter of urgency, so that patients were not adversely affected.
Minister Harris concluded by saying “the speedy provision of these nine treatments is a priority, and I expect the HSE to conclude all the necessary processes - clinical, commercial and legal - as a matter of priority, to ensure that clinicians and patients have access to these treatment options as soon as possible.”
