Statement of condolences by Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Simon Coveney, T.D., on the airplane disaster in Algeria

The Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs & Trade, Mr. Simon Coveney T.D., has expressed his condolences to the people of Algeria on the loss of life as a result of yesterday’s plane crash, which claimed the lives of at least 257 people, including children.
The Tánaiste said:

I wish to extend my sincere condolences to the people of Algeria and in particular to the families of those who lost their lives in yesterday’s military transport plane crash. This dreadful incident is both a human and a national tragedy. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families at this sad time.
