Storm Dennis – Public Notice from National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS) of the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht

Due to the Status Orange wind warning which is currently in place for Wexford and Waterford, and valid until 20:00 this evening, the following NPWS sites are closed:

-       The Wexford Wildfowl Reserve

-       The Raven Wood Nature Reserve

A Status Orange Wind Warning has also been called for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick and will be valid from 10 am tomorrow Sunday, 16 February 2020 until 10pm tomorrow night. The following NPWS sites will be closed as a result:

-       Coole-Garryland Nature Reserve, Gort, Co. Galway

-       Connemara National Park

-       Knockma Wood, near Tuam, Co. Galway

-       Wild Nephin, Ballycroy National Park

-       Old Head Nature Reserve

-       Laughil Wood, near Pontoon, Co. Mayo

-       Killarney House and Gardens

-       Muckross House

The public is advised not to visit any National Parks, National Monuments or Nature Reserves whilst the Status Orange is in place in those areas

The NPWS would ask the public for their ongoing cooperation on this matter by not entering these sites for the duration of these weather warnings.
