Tánaiste to attend Council meeting in Brussels on Refugee Crisis
The Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality Frances Fitzgerald T.D. will be attending the meeting of EU Justice and Home Affairs Ministers taking place in Brussels tomorrow Friday 20th May 2016.
The Tánaiste said that the meeting would focus solely on migration issues.
Ministers will be given an update on developments throughout the European
Union and on the implementation of EU- Turkey statement of 18 March 2016.
The Tánaiste expects to obtain a detailed account on the flow of those
seeking refuge in the EU and on the ground reports of how it is affecting
countries such as Greece.
The meeting will also include an exchange of views on Visa policy for
Turkey, Georgia, Ukraine and Kososvo and progress on the plan for a
European Border Guard.
