Taoiseach, Tánaiste and Minister for Jobs attend high level Invest in Ireland event in New York

Taoiseach will outline progress Ireland is making in dealing with economic challenges

The Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, Tánaiste, Eamon Gilmore and Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton are in the US today for a series of engagements with key business and economic leaders, aimed at encouraging those who haven’t already invested in Ireland’s economic recovery to do so.

The Taoiseach and Ministers will participate in an “Invest in Ireland” roundtable discussion hosted by President Bill Clinton. Some 100 people from the Global Irish Network and influential friends of Ireland, and existing investors in Ireland will participate in the forum. President Clinton will address delegates at the start of the meeting which is taking place in New York University.

Speaking in advance of the event Taoiseach Enda Kenny said “at this special event in New York the President and I will meet with a number of senior US executives who do not yet have substantive business interests here. This is a unique opportunity to engage with the highest levels of the international business world - to promote Ireland as an investment destination, and is yet another manifestation of how to achieve the mission of the global Irish making a difference together.”
