30 November 2020

The High-Level Task Force on COVID-19 Vaccination held its second full meeting today, Monday 30th November 2020, chaired by Professor Brian MacCraith.

Further expertise has been added to the Task Force, which now includes senior representatives from across the Department of Health, the Health Service Executive, the Health Products Regulatory Authority, the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, the Office of Government Procurement, IDA Ireland, the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment and the Department of the Taoiseach, as well as expertise in the areas of public health, supply chain logistics, cold chain logistics, and programme management.

The participants in today’s meeting of the Task Force noted the progress made with the programme of work, which fully integrates the work ongoing across the HSE and Department of Health.

The Task Force is on track to deliver the national COVID-19 Vaccination Strategy and Implementation Plan to Government by the 11th December 2020 for Government’s consideration thereafter.

The importance of widely communicating the progress in respect of the vaccine approval process and the details of the Vaccination Programme was emphasised by the Task Force and this element of the Strategy will be delivered through and by the relevant Departments, Agencies, officials and clinicians as part of that plan.
