"Today's announcement is a huge boost for rural Ireland and will assist in the further development of the rural economy. The rollout of the National Broadband Plan is a key element of Realising our Rural Potential, the Government's Action Plan for Rural Development. Today’s announcement shows the continued commitment of this Government to rural Ireland.

“The agreement with eir will have a direct impact on rural communities and will deliver a boost to rural businesses which are badly in need of high speed broadband access. The Government understands that broadband is a key issue for rural communities and thanks to this new agreement hundreds of additional premises will be connected every day.”
