Minister Fitzgerald announces Implementation Programme on foot of Child Deaths Report
'Gibbons-Shannon Implementation Programme' to ensure action on recommenda
Children & Youth Affairs MinisterFrances Fitzgerald has confirmed that she is putting in place a programme to implement the recommendations of the Report of the Independent Child Death Review Group which she published this week.
The Minister told yesterday's special meeting of the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Health, Children & Youth Affairs that:
"following consultations with an Taoiseach, I am putting in place the 'Gibbons-Shannon Implementation Programme to ensure action on the recommendations of this weeks report and I will be bringing regular progress reports on my Department's reform programme to Government and the relevant Cabinet sub-committee."
