Joe McHugh, T.D., Government Chief Whip and Minister of State for the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands, has sanctioned a grant of €58,736 for Donegal County Council to allow works to be undertaken to relocate electricity cables that are situated close to the helipad that has been developed on Toraigh. The decision to relocate the cables was based on health and safety concerns.

Making the announcement, the Minister of State said “My Department has supported the development of a fine facility on the island, and this additional funding will add further to its safety.”
